Exclusive and simple. This is what the Warsaw-based Mizu restaurant is like, where apart from savoring the specialties of Japanese cuisine, we also have one more dish at our disposal … It is a very creative arrangement of space in which the creativity of the designer creatively uses one basic motive. Sparse, even minimalist (but not in the Scandinavian spirit) space plays in a completely different way with Japanese tradition and culture.

The Mizu restaurant is located in the loft interior of Defabryka at ul. Duchnicka 3 in Warsaw. On the one hand, we are close to the Center, Żoliborz and Wola. But as if off the beaten track – this is a location that allows you to take a break from the city noise.
The interior is an unusual combination of space inspired by the culture of the Land of the Rising Sun and loft, industrial spaces. Exposed installations, visible pillars, and plastered white walls are associated with hipster pubs rather than Japanese restaurants.

The designer had about 230 sq m of space to develop, in addition with high ceilings and spacious. Balanced decorativeness – a limited range of colors, subtle lines, natural materials constitute the background for the most important art in this place – the art of preparing meals.

The interiors were to be a background for the taste of the dishes served here and a tribute to Japanese philosophy and a minimalist lifestyle. The natural, loft character of the interior is emphasized by brick walls, concrete construction elements and floors.
The wooden square timber is, however, the most important element organizing the style of the space. Walls, partitions, buildings and platforms were made of it. Even tables! These elements are used to separate individual functional zones.

The interior is dominated by natural materials – wood or stone decorate surfaces and furniture. Against the background of light walls (only at times interspersed with graphite blocks of wardrobes or structural elements of buildings), the stone bar in the form of a circle, surrounding the central kitchen, stands out in particular. Here, up to 30 people can admire the work of Sushi Masters. In addition, there is a Tepan device on the bar, on which the chefs prepare fish and seafood.
All interior design elements and furniture were made according to an individual project. For example, bar hookers with an unusual form or tables are noteworthy. The whole space looks like a concrete skeleton after the post is creatively lined with wooden beams. Simple form – surprising effect.

It is worth paying attention to the lighting – Vibia Air Flow lamps – are associated with the Japanese art of calligraphy. These are delicate lines against the background of uniform interior colors. Just as Japanese culture is associated with focus on detail, every detail has been taken care of here too. For example table ceramics, which were also made according to an individual project.

The spacious restaurant part is very homogeneous and constructed – like almost the entire interior – on the plans of rectangles and squares with the addition of circles. Only asymmetrical sails float above the kitchen area.
On the floor above there is a VIP room – kept in dark colors, unlike the public space. An interesting diversion is a special play area for children – with a kitchen and a dollhouse. Thanks to this, Mizu also works well as a family meeting place.
